In collaboration with the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), The Ford Foundation and Indian industry, and the Government of West Bengal, IIM Calcutta was established in 1961. The institute offers PG, doctoral, and executive programmes to the students. IIM Kolkata's courses are provided across the Management and various other streams. The college is ranked 4th by NIRF 2023 under the Management category, 1st by Business Today 2023 for MBA, and 3rd by Outlook under the MBA (Government) category.
