Established in 1946, The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) is located in Mysore. NIE Mysore is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and got autonomous status from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi in 2007. In addition to this, the institute is also accredited by the NAAC. NIE is the second engineering college in Karnataka and the first one in Mysore.
