Established in 1974, the University of Hyderabad (commonly known as Hyderabad University) is a Central University recognised by the UGC. It is accredited with an ‘A’ Grade by the NAAC. In addition to this, it is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Globally, UoH was ranked 156 by the QS Asia Rankings 2022. The University of Hyderabad ranks 10 and 20 under the 'University' and 'Overall' categories, respectively, by the NIRF 2022 Rankings. At present, the university offers integrated, PG and doctorate courses in the stream of Engineering, Management, Science, Education, Computer Applications and more. All these courses are offered in 12 schools and 41 departments. In addition to this, the university also offers distance education courses through its Centre for Distance and Visual Learning. Hyderabad Central University (HCU) has signed various MoUs with national and international institutions/ universities for activities such as student exchange programmes, research & development, joint degree programmes and more. Over the years, it has filed more than 50 patents in streams such as Science, Life Science and Engineering & Technology.
